Most of them on the first day yes. However, you will have a few that are willing to see you.

You will face heavy cuts. You're going up against girls who go in knowing so many actives and have 3.5+ GPAs and are super involved in school and their communities. And they might even be legacies

I had a good recruitment but went through with a 3.4

But definitely stick through it. You just might find your home

how do you have lower than a 3.0 coming out of high school?

You're going to face really heavy cuts from the top sororities on the first day. Those cuts are based mostly on grades. If you make it through ice water tea round then those you have left may be able to look past your GPA. But it is going to be a bottom house and it may just be 2 or 3.

If you went to an academically competitive high school and took honors or upper level classes then this might be taken into consideration. If this is the case, then try to somehow incorporate this into your resume by mentioning courses you took or listing both an unweighted and weighted GPA. If you were accepted to UA right out if HS with a 2.75 GPA, then it's likely that other circumstances, like the ones listed above, also occurred. Don't decide not to rush because you are worried about what could or could not happen. You never know unless you try. Good luck and I hope you have a great experience during rush!

went to one of the most academically rigorous high schools in the South. She had a 2.8 gpa. Got cut by every house. She had a 3.3 gpa after fall semester and was picked up as a spring pledge by a house that she was a legacy. This happened 4 years ago.

Do sororities look at the weighted or unweighted GPA more? My weighted GPA is awesome.. unweighted not so much

They look at unweighted. Too many HS kids take crummy courses to boost their GPA...they're on to that. That's why they want a transcript.

It's up to you to provide either a weighted or unweighted on your resumé. I'm not sure what GPA is put on transcripts though.

Sororities aren't looking at your resume for your gpa. Period. They're looking at the information the UA admissions is giving them aka unweighted

admissions uses weighted for admissions and scholarship decisions so isn't that what they'd use for everything?

I don't know where you got that from... They don't use weighted gpas for scholarships unless that's the only gpa your school includes on your transcript

If that's the case, then yes, they will use you weighted bc that's the only gpa the school has unless they recalculate it (which is something a lot of schools do, not sure about ua)

UA admits a 2.75 GPA? Wow, that should tell you a lot!

^This was not me. And stop being so judgmental. UA is 77th in the nation. You're probably an Auburn fan (hello 89th)
