Why are Theta and GPhi considered some of the worst sororities?

They're newer. They're not part of the machine. They recruit heavily from out of state. All those things, which to an oos student are probably good, make Alabamians turn up their noses. It doesn't seem to bother the girls in those houses, though.

Do your research, nationally they are both very strong... Much stronger than PhiMu, AXO, AGD, ADPi. Don't get wrapped up on just popularity on UA campus. Great girls in both.

You wouldn't know it from reading greekrank where every sorority alumna in Alabama is on her 24/7 ranking up her own house, but there are actually quite a few girls each year that pledge those houses because they love them. It makes me cringe when people say any house takes "leftovers." Especially when Phi Mu gave out maybe a fifth of their house snap bids -- girls that had been dropped totally from recruitment.

Remember before GPhi sold out they were the least popular sorority here. Sad times ☹️
