being said. 10 percent of girls drop. Which is almost 2/3 of girls who don't get bids. You can be in a sorority if you don't have recs unless you don't maximize your options. Some require them, some don't

There are over 2,000 girls in recruitment, a few hundred won't get bids. The first couple of nights alone most houses have to cut HUNDREDS of girls. So who are we going to keep? Someone that a trusted alum has backed, or someone who isn't supported by ANYONE in our ENTIRE alumni network?......

First cuts are based solely on gpa and rec letters. You don't have a 3.0 for example or at least the standard set by the specific chapter, you get cut. You don't have a rec letter and the house requires it? You get cut. For example AXO might decide that 3.4 is their minimum required gpa for membership, so they cut everyone who has a gpa below that. The next rounds are based more on conversations and people. Popular houses cut more people right away and less popular houses cut less. Each days quota is house specific determined by panhellenic. Expect the most cuts after round 2.

It's and easy cut, but also If you think sending recs in is too much work, what will you think when you actually have to do service?

The bottom line is you better get those recs in ladies! Barely a chance without them.

no recs you’ll end up in a bottom tier house that’s desperate for members, if you get a house at all.
