recruitment numbers
by: PnmSo I saw an article this morning about how sorority pnms are going to be about 2,100 this year, but I also heard that registrations are lagging behind a bit from last year. How many girls do you think will go through recruitment?

Online registration doesn't even close until August 8th and the website says girls can register in person on the 9th at Convocation. Just a guess, but I'd say there'll be in the neighborhood of 2250-2300. Numbers have been increasing every year at SEC schools. Didn't Bama have to add an extra day to recruitment last year when 2000 rushed? I might be thinking of another school, but seems like it was Bama. Hopefully most PNMs are already registered and had their recs sent in. Again going by the website, it's suggested they be sent by July 15th. I personally know a lot of alumnae (a lot of people in my family are Greek) who have been crazy busy sending recs to Bama sororities in the last few weeks.

I expect registrations to skyrocket over the next few days, but they won't stop completely on the 15th. They'll keep coming, at a slower rate, and then there will be a jump a couple of weeks before recruitment. And the usual dozen or so who register the day before...and the usual dozen or less who either withdraw or don't show up.

I think the extra day (a philanthropy day) added was actually at Ole Miss. I could be wrong, though
