How so? Is it just because you want to get the best/youngest girls that may have been cut or dropped?

I'd say all the sororities do pick up a few upperclassmen. In the top 6 or 7, they will be women who are already well known to the current members, either through friends or a strong legacy status.
If you have excellent grades...especially if a sorority needs bolstering in the grades department...you have an excellent chance.
But keep your options open and don't be snobbish about what sorority you'll "accept." You really aren't in a position to be choosy.

Actually my sorority has had some really good transfer girls!! We love when other sorority women transfer to UA...Spring recruitment however is a totally different story.
