Gamma Phi is not bad at all. All of the sororities here are amazing in their own ways. It is great honor to be in any sorority at Alabama. I am not in this sorority, and it makes me mad to see all of the negative comments about them. They have really classy, beautiful girls in this house just like all of the other houses. People just choose to judge the whole house by some of the girls they see. Most of them are really nice. Don't believe ANYTHING you read on this website.

Will gphi bounce back in the near future?

Will they bounce back in the near future? I think maybe so. They have gotten a couple of good pledge classes in the last two years and are doing better now than before. The people who are interested in keeping them down are the lower level new row houses who don't want to be on the bottom. Their strategy is to keep badmouthing Gamma Phi so that they are better than at least one other house. My impression of the Gamma Phis is that they don't buy into the rep and just go on with their lives. They seem pretty chill.

I think they are getting better in the sense that all the houses have so many quality girls going through rush to choose from. Unfortunately, some drop out after getting only "lower" houses back because of hateful postings on this site and others. It would make the entire greek community better if people would calm down about ranking and which house if better. I think they'd all improve. And I think the rest of the university would think better of us.

This is a great message. It's true that some girls drop when their only options are ones that are not valued as highly. These are girls that would be a huge asset to panhellenic. The Gamma Phis have an amazing sisterhood and are some of the sweetest and classiest girls ever and we should stop the meanness and encourage this sorority to grow and improve.

Of something I saw on one of the old "fratty" sites from a few years ago:

Somebody at another school put up random pictures of different sorority members at swaps, formals, etc., without identifying which groups they were in. In many cases, the girls in what were considered bottom houses were guessed as being in top houses, and vice versa. I bet if you did the same experiment for Bama, you'd get similar results.

Bottom line: Stereotypes suck. Gamma Phi Beta and all the rest of Alabama's sororities are wonderful groups.

When girls aren't wearing letters, you can't tell most of them apart unless you know them personally. That's one reason sites like this are so misleading. When pnms get here and see the beautiful, accomplished, smart, classy girls in every house they're confused because they believe the tent talk and greek rank slander.
