one pair of jeans to college. you never really wear jeans tbh. bring LOTS of yoga pants and nike/lulu lemon shorts. bring like 2 nice sweaters, two nice tops, two nice dresses, and maybe like 5 tee shirts youd wear to class. a coat and a rainjacket. some frat party clothes. thats it...
you get a lot of tshirts after bid day and those are basically what you wear so dont bring a lot

Ranked by necessity:
1. Athletic wear. The vast majority of people wear wear athletic (or "ath-leasure") wear to class. This consists of t-shirts, running shorts, leggings, yoga pants, sweaters, sneakers, etc. This is literally what you'll be wearing 75% of the time.
2. Party attire. Parties here aren't small kickbacks where you can just wear whatever. Girls here love to dress up for parties. This consists of skirts, nice tank tops, heels, etc. Just an FYI - no one here wears bodycon skirts or dresses to parties, I know it's popular at some schools but it's not here.
3. Business-casual. Whether it's for chapter, a job interview, or a public speaking class you'll need at least some more professional clothes. Some houses require girls to wear strictly dresses to chapter, some houses require business-casual, some houses only require girls on Exec to dress up... You can't go wrong with bringing a few extra simple dresses. A lot of girls end up reusing dresses they wore during rush if they need to dress up. And a lot of gameday dresses can work too. It would be wise to also bring a few collared button down shirts and/or very nice and professional blouses just in case.
Things not to pack:
- High school apparel. Most sororities have a rule that you're not allowed to wear high school apparel.
- Extra t-shirts. Maybe a handful of your absolute favorite just to get you through the first few weeks, but you'll get a lot of free shirts during get on board day and most older actives are always selling their t shirts for like 5-10 dollars. And of course as the semester progresses you can buy more and more JNJ shirts. At a certain point you'll find yourself never even touching your old t-shirts you brought from home.
- And just everything you haven't worn in a while. If you haven't had the opportunity to wear something in the past year or two, you'll probably never have an opportunity to wear it in college. Sell old clothes to Platos closet and get some extra spending money. The absolute worth thing you can do is overpack.

We do dress nice on game days (not that its a requirement, its just kind of tradition). Typical gameday outfit is romper/wedges, jeans (boot cut is popular)/wedges, or a denim skirt with a cute top and wedges. So basically make sure to bring good crimson colored items and I guess wedges are essential, lol. But in all honesty, where what you want. that ^ is just whats trendy here.

Coming from california I wish someone would've given me a heads up bc clothes are not easy to find in tuscaloosa it's not exactly known for it's shopping. College parties on the west coast is a lot of brandy Melville cropped little tops, shredded shorts and some converse, but not so much in Alabama. things that fly at say u of Arizona don't fly as much at Alabama. im not saying people dress conservative, but tube tops that are the size of strapless bras aren't really in. I would get some skirts, denim, black, maybe an envelope skirt/skort I have a few that are so comfy I wear them everywhere. some cute flare jeans, a lot of wedges that go w different things but aren't too big and uncomfy that you'll fall down in them. and some cute versatile tops that could go w the jeans or skirts. maybe a handful of more marroon shade red tops or skirts for game days. black and white and denim also works on game day!

One thing I wish I knew is that game day colors aren’t too big of a thing for sorority girls— as in there will not be many girls wearing crimson and almost none wearing houndstooth!
Most girls wear neautrals: tan, black, white, snakeskin etc to game day! Red is okay but less girls wear it then you would expect.
I would recommend looking at sorority girl’s outfits on insta for game day advice but most will wear dresses, two piece sets, rompers, or a top and skirt/shorts.
