outfits for rush?

by:

Couple questions:
Good places to get dresses? Online?

And what is best to wear? How do we know what is considered fancy enough for each day? Are patterns okay for open house or would you say solids are better.
suggestions please for
open house days
philanthropy days
sisterhood & pref

Revolve, Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Zappos, 6pm, Lulus’s, Tobi. All of these stores have liberal return policies. If you know a certain brand that you’re looking for, Amazon can be great. If you get the student prime, you get free shipping.

Okay so here's the thing. There are 2,000+ girls that go through rush. You will see all types of dresses. You'll see girls wearing dresses that stop you dead in your tracks because their outfits are so cute. And you'll see girls wearing dresses that make you question their sanity. That being said, the best advice I can give you is to:
1. Follow the Greek Chic as closely as possible. This walk-through guide is curated by active sorority girls, not middle aged alum, who have your best interest at heart and know what's what. The Greek Chic very clearly states what you should and shouldn't wear each day. Google "Greek chic 2018" and it should be the first link if you haven't already seen it.
2. Wear what reflects your personal style and character. Follow the advice from the Greek Chic but put your spin on it.

As I said earlier, you'll see girls in all types of outfits throughout rush. So you really can't go wrong with let's say wearing a bold color or fun pattern. If you follow the general dress code, there's little you could do that will make you look out of place... So if you want to wear bright colors, do it. And if you want to wear patterns that's more than fine too. Also, rush isn't really "fancy." I think a better word to describe it is formal. It's formal yet fun. You should be dressed modestly but that doesn't mean you need to be in a stiff mid-length dress all week. You can be just as formal in a cute sundress and some heels. It really comes down to the cuts of the dresses (neckline and hemline) that determines formality.

-Wear full coverage underwear with your dresses. Pref you can probably get away with not doing this if you're worried about panty lines, but the other days there's a greater chance you'll flash an active or sit on the ground, even between parties
-I brought a claw clip to gently pin my hair up between parties so I didn't sweat all over it, and I felt both cooler and more put together when I went into parties because my hair wasn't a sweaty mess from the walk between houses
-I didn't think about this before I went through, but your bra is going to get very sweaty and you're not going to want to do a full load of laundry in the middle of the week if you need to reuse that bra at a later party. I washed mine in the sink and let it dry overnight, but almost wish I had planned it so I didn't need to rewear a bra during the week
-NYX and ELF make makeup setting sprays that are reasonably priced and saved my makeup from sliding everywhere in the heat. Spray before and after you do your make up, and you should be okay just using blotting sheets and doing little touch ups during the day

It's hard to stand out on the good side.

Easier to stand out on the bad!

The goal is to be conservative but not boring. But when in doubt, error towards the conservative and not controversial

A few girls may think that bold Lily print is the cutest, but there are others that are going to be turned off. The point is to not turn people off

Someone above said it's not fancy. I agree. They said it's formal, and I'm not sure I agree. Id say thing going to a nice wedding on the beach but where you may meet your future in-laws - if that makes sense!

Cover it up, not too tight, prepared for the heat, but still fun

For IWT round, would platform sandals be good to wear? They're not exactly wedges but they're not really like sandals either. They're really cute though, not Tevas or anything. Would those be good to wear or should I go for a different type of sandal?? thx
