why can't i join?
by: Black PersonI want to join a IFC fraternity house at UA next year, but I don't know if I should waste my time rushing. Why do houses still want to discriminate against me because of my skin color? I cannot help if I'm "black," I am a good guy and think I would make a great addition to a house. Why are you guys so regressive and negative towards people who look differently than you? Why do you all hate me so much? What have I done to any of you?
#2 by: NONE OF THAT
None of that matters. What matters is that NOW it's the 21st century. We haven't had slaves for 150 years. Blacks now are not inherently lower than whites like when they weren't allowed to learn to read or write. I agree that in the old days you wouldn't want to associate with your maid's children in your sorority. Now, though, the blacks that would be in a house are the sons and daughters of doctors, lawyers, etc. Not maids and gardeners. The people who would go through rush are as acceptable as you are.
