what to expect
by: bamagal13I know gpa is a criteria of all sororities but what else do they really look at? I mean is it all letters of rec or Gpa or what i'm from out of state and totally confused on what to expect. My preference bid is Alpha Phi, so i am just unsure.

If you're really against "being mean" I don't think you'd single out a sorority and say something that you don't know if it's even true against them. She's just saying to go through recruitment, learn the terminology, and not look for information about recruitment on greek rank. I think that's fine.

GPA is #1, followed by #2 rep; #3, personality (AKA compatability); #4 looks; #5 connections. Looks are a part of it, but only a part.
Don't go into it thinking you'll only accept a bid from A, B, D, E, or F. There are 17 groups out there. You'll be surprised by the ones you'll like the best. And it will change from day to day.

Your success in rush will depend on a number of things:
1. Your Zipcode---Birmingham girls have the best advantage
2. Legacies---Does your family have any legacies?
3. Money---How much money does your family have? (yes sororities DO look into this)
3. GPA---The cutoff is always at least a 3.0 during rush....but GPA is overall a VERY important part of rush
4. Looks---Let's be honest...beauty can certainly get you VERY far in rush
5. Extracurriculars---What were you involved in in high school?
6. Letters of Recommendation
7. Charisma---How well do you carry yourself and how well are you able to hold conversation?

You probs dont even go here. Or your a gamma phi try hard who is bullying the pnms. They could be your sister one day! Stop with all your sassy remarks and be sweet! Some of us in the greek system are trying to help these girls through recruitment! Theres no reason to be mean
