by: NortsEverybody wears norts. Is this a bama thing? Where I'm from people get a little bit more dressed for school. Will I stick out in a bad way if I'm not in norts and a huge tshirt every day? I'm used to cute shorts and a top, or a sundress or romper, stuff like that. You wear norts to go running...

In high school it's ok to dress up, I mean you're there from 8AM till 3PM.
In college some times you get out of bed just for one class. Are you really going to put in that kind of effort to get ready for one class?
Also in college, 99% of the people you walk past will not know anything about you, nor will they care. It's not like high school "oh did you see what Cindy was wearing".
College is like visiting a Wal-Mart in a completely different town your grandma lives in...Are you really going to get dressed for that?
Also it's not about fitting in, it's more about excluding yourself. Think of it like wearing a suit to the beach. Just go with the flow girl.

I feel the same as you. I have settled on Norts for some days, cute clothes when you feel like it. Who cares what others think? If someone looks strangely at you for dressing in a cute way...then that is seriously their problem. I know plenty of girls (me included) who wore a lot of Norts and oversized shorts for the first semester and then were astonished when we pulled on our jeans and they were too snug, lol. Sometimes it is too cozy.

Trust me, when it’s 95 degrees with 98% humidity, you will not want to be wearing anything besides norts and a big T-shirt so you can hide how sweaty you are lmao
What people said above is right though, don’t forget to make sure you can still fit into clothes WITHOUT elastic waistbands. Speaking from experience, if you have to wait until you’re moving up to the next size of norts, you’re in pretty deep.
