what type of dress do you wear to initiation?

Not asking you to reveal any house secrets. I'm trying to buy a prom dress that I can also wear to initiation. Does it have to be ALL white? Formal or more casual? Length? Sorry I'm a little clueless

Forget it. Buy your prom dress to be a prom dress. Initiation is a totally different vibe. And not the same for each sorority. Can't say more.

You'll probably wear your graduation dress as an initiation dress if anything. Like the poster above said, it's a whole different vibe.

If you want to get a nice, well-fitting, white or off-white sheath dress, that is simple and not too short (like just above the knee) then you really can't go wrong. You might wear it for a pledging ceremony or initiation, or for any nice occasion that would come up in your social life.

+1 to this. The South in general loooooooooves white. Try to get a conservative, pure white dress (not cream). Some houses may require a longer length or different color, but you will find many occasions to wear a white dress here.

This could be a waste if you end up rushing certain sororities. For their initiation, Alpha Phis wear tube tops and denim minis.

Take a look at sorority instas. Many of them will have a group shot of girls just initiated so you can see what types of dresses are typical.
