do i have a chance?
by: worriedI will be attending Alabama next fall and I am going to rush. I'm from the Midwest, I have a strong resume, and I'm likable. Even though I'm from the Midwest most of my family is from the south, many of whom attended Alabama. I was wondering if it is possible for me to get into a top tier old row house. My family was in several of these houses and I've been invited to their rush events, but is there a remote chance of me getting a bid?

Yes, there is a good chance that you can get an old row bid, especially since you have had family go here. (If you are a legacy you will have an even better chance.) There is really only one house that might not accept you just on the fact that you're out of state, but if you have good grades, involvement, and a great personality then you have a good chance at getting a house that you really like. Just remember to keep you mind open during rush, every house is good in its own way and you might even find your home in a new row house. It really is true, you end up where you're supposed to be! Another word of advice, ALWAYS maximize your options when it comes to voting!!! Thats very important, and your Rho Chi's will be stressing it all week.
As a side note, this website is not a good representation of what UA greek life is really like. I suggest that you do not take anything on here seriously, and if you have any other questions it might be good to look elsewhere! Good luck with senior year and rush!

If I had to guess, he was talking about KA. They're known to not take boys from out of state.
