dont rush if your gpa is below a 3.2
by: sororitygirlI know for a fact that CHI O, AXO, DDD, AGD, PHI MU, and KKG will all drop you after first round if you do not have above a 3.2, so don't get your hopes up because they wont give you a bid.

Omg. For the LAST time...
Grades 100% matter for MOST PNMs. Are you an average girl? Meaning, are you a girl who's not too well connected, not too pretty, not too well adversed in other criteria that makes a PNM desirable? If so, then your high school grades will make or break you. That being said, if you're an average PNM (you know you're average if you don't have actives from multiple different houses following you) then anything below a 3.4/3.5 will hurt you.
However, girls who are top and/or very desired by a house do not have to worry about their grades. If a PNM is a NY Fashion Week model with a 1.25 GPA then a house is going to want her. Shallow? Yeah.
My point: There's a general census about grades that applies to MOST PNMs. However, there's a few PNMs in which these "guidelines" don't apply because said PNMs are simply very desired.
#5by: Pledge the library
If you managed to bring your GPA UP significantly your junior and senior year (like from a 2.5-2.7 freshman and sophomore year to a 3.3-3.5 your junior and senior year) I would say go ahead and rush ( and have a very open mind on ANY house). If this isn't you and you are walking in with a 2.8 and you still want to rush, be open to any house that might consider you (just so you know, most won't). You must understand that you will have to say no a lot to parties and swaps because it takes more for you to actually learn class material. Those parties that are held on school nights are not for you. And, you actually MUST go to all your classes. Otherwise, pledge the library your freshman year, get good grades, and come back as a sophomore with better options and a better sense of what it takes to be in college.
