who are the guys holding flowers on bid day? like I've seen multiple houses have guys holding single flowers on bid day for the new girls... but are those guys just like friends of the new girls? or do some houses ask guys to give them out?

so how does it all work? i've also seen pictures and bid day videos where guys are in the back but they all only have one rose/flower... how do they choose which new member to give it to?

They’re pledges. They get told to give the new members bids by the older guys. Usually the guys are friends with actives in the sororities

they are usually pledges with a few actives (the active either has a girlfriend in that house or a lot of friends that are girls) the pledges buy flowers and distribute them to new members in the house they are assigned to. It is actually very sweet. I met one of my best guy friends that way when I went through recruitment.
