by: horseWhat are the non-greeks like this school? Do they party? What do you do at this school if you aren't in a Fraternity or Sorority?

There was a post just like this like a few days ago... But for the most past non Greek girls who are into the frat party scene can definitely still have fun. I know I've met a lot of non Greek girls at various frats, so it's not like they can't still be a part of the social scene. For guys, I know it's much harder to get into frat parties just in general. You either need to finesse your way past security or you need to know guys in the house and have them either put your name on a list or come to the door and take you in himself.
That being said, a lot of non Greeks like the bar scene... There's no hassle with whether or not you're Greek or whether or not you know this person and so forth. Being a non Greek at Bama isn't the worst, you can definitely still blackout on a Monday night if that's your thing lol

I have quite a few non Greek friends, but they are all pretty girls who have lots of friends in sororities and fraternities so honestly I think their experience at Alabama isn't that much different than being in a sorority. The biggest difference is probably that if you're in a sorority/ fraternity you know/ are acquainted with WAY more people.
I think being a freshman boy who wasn't in a fraternity would be kinda rough, but girls have it pretty easy as long as they're fun and social.

I have a lot of greek and not greek friends, but it is definitely more difficult for the guys freshman year. If you want to party and aren't greek I suggest you invest in a good fake ID. Dorm parties are few and far between depending on where you live, and even so a lot of those are just pregames for the bars or the frats. Geed guys should try to make friends early and go to some rush parties at the beginning of the year even if you cant afford to pledge. I knew several guys who made friends in frats but never pledged. But it helped them a lot bc they at least knew people enough to get into some frat parties.
