Every friday someone in either a fraternity or sorority is chosen to have their hand deep fried for everyone to watch. It's more popular among the frats since boys will be boys. Basically someone gets their hand battered and then dipped into hot oil.

fried fridays are just when houses have a variety of fried food for lunch on friday
