Delta Gamma - ΔΓ Sorority Ratings at UA

I'm a DG alum and here's my honest review and experience... I randomly thought of GreekRank today, checked it, and was surprised people still use it. It doesn't seem like too much has changed, so I thought I'd give my story. I rushed in 2012 when DG was still relatively new. I had APhi, DDD, and DG left as my final three, putting DG as second. I won't lie, I was mainly drawn in by the nice new house. And I actually wasn't expecting to end up with DG because I was told during rush that you have like a 95% chance of ending up with your first. As for the girls themselves, they were a mixed bag. Most seemed to be focused on their studies, handful of mild partiers, a lot of just plain weirdos, I even dealt with a bunch of girls who were mean for no reason... From what I remember they were pretty strict about grades and parties. The swaps were okay, but the upperclassmen were like vultures waiting to send you to Standards Board over the most ridiculous things. One caused a scene at me at a swap like I was a crazy alcoholic just because I had opened my SECOND Natty Light for the night LOL ??? There were plenty of philanthropy opportunities and I did really enjoy the philanthropy side of DG and what they stood for. But I ended up dropping after 2 years because I was just over the endless amount of rules and meetings and petty fines on top of it all just being a weird vibe overall. If I knew what I knew now, I probably wouldn't have rushed at all honestly lol. Just be aware whatever sorority you join will be very time-consuming. Althou gh it wasn't the sorority experience I wanted and that I believe I fit in, I did meet a couple of people who I still talk to today although we all live in different states now. So just know that, whatever sorority you end up in, you will find your people :)

I hated being in dg. They bid promised so many of my friends and talked down about other sororities.

God this house has the biggest catfishes ever. And they’re so rude to other houses. They photoshop all their Instagram pictures.

DG’s are somewhat stuck up for no apparent reason. They are a house full of basic girls trying really hard to be cool. It’s like they can’t get over the fact that they weren’t the popular girls in high school and they still carry that chip on their shoulder even though nobody in college cares.

These girls are obsessed with being in the top when theyre really in the bottom. Do not rush this sorority unless you want fake friends that care more about their instagram likes than how youre doing

DG seems to think its a top sorority on this campus because of its national reputation. They are not even close to being top and are not improving. The girls are awkward and somewhat arrogant and nobody can figure out why they are so stuck up. They aren't my favorite to meet at parties and on campus. That said, they sure do love each other so they have a strong sisterhood.

Really nice girls but they aren’t top tier or in the top 5 so this is just a reality ranking, not sure why they are above most of old row and others. Great national org and beautiful house though. Just not the top chapter here or top tier, they are more in the middle.

Nice girls and no shade but they should not be ranked higher than PM KKG and XO here, maybe go easy on the self ranking. Beautiful house, I think they’re less than average, really sweet girls and never met one that wasn’t likeable and fun. All houses at Bama are great and DG is respected here. Just not sure about this ranking here. Not number 3 for sure.

DG is respected and have never met a girl that wasn’t nice and kind. Their nationals do things differently than some of the other organizations and they don’t base their bids on looks at all, much more about academics and leadership. That sometimes hurts their standings at Bama where things can be really superficial at times. At any rate, not a top 3 here so this ranking is a little inflated. No shade. Solid mid tier house and the girls here seem happy.
