Fall rush guide

Here are the frats that do fall rush and their tiers (ranks within tier subjective). I’m trying to provide an accurate guide for freshman, so no comment warriors mad about exact placement of their frat please😭. I’ll add that higher tier does not mean better, has to do with mixing and commitment generally

Lower upper (upper houses don’t do fall rush): DX, sig pi
- For these houses, you pretty much have to have dirty rushed in order to make it in. If you’re super impressive maybe you’ll slip through the cracks. These houses are the highest commitment/wealthiest/most hazing, but they also have tight knit brotherhoods and they’ll also throw the most wild parties (like DX Cairo for example) and occasionally mix with C4

Upper mid: ZBT, Chi Phi, lambda
- Dirty rush is still very common but will narrowly select a few new guys during fall rush. rarely mix with core 4 but still high commitment (at least for lambda when off sopro). These houses tend to be fratty, still have a lot of wealth and have robust mixing schedules. Hazing pretty bad but not sadistic like top houses.

Mid: Pikapp, Pike, Phi Tau
- dirty rush still takes about half their guys but rush week is pretty big for these houses. lighter pledge process and may not get those upper mid mixers, but they’re still relevant on campus and hold mixers and multi ways every weekend (at least when pike and pikapp can throw again but that’s very soon). Still decent commitment and great brotherhood but you can still have a life outside the fraternity (pike for example is known for taking a lot of the “normal” engineers).

Lower mid: PSK, Fiji, SAE
- these houses probably won’t dirty rush heavily and are probably looking to take big fall classes. Still Usually can book lower sororities on the occasional mixer but social scene revolves more around banded opens. Usually good brotherhood but a little less selective in who they admit.

Lower: everyone else (llenroc, dke, rockledge, Kappa sig, sig nu, beta, etc.)
- these houses definitely don’t require dirty rush. Lower basically means you don’t mix, which can be fine, it just means parties rely on people brothers give bands to. Sometimes good brotherhood sometimes not; see for yourself. No slander here
