Sophomore from UW-Madison and I need to be a Theta

Hi everyone. I've been looking at this site a lot because I want to become involved with greek life when I attend Cornell in the fall as a transfer. I'm gonna be a CALS student and I feel like joining a sorority would help me become more involved. I really want to be a Theta or an Aphi but I know like 800 girls rush and only 40-50 get picked to be in each house. How can I increase my chances? I'm not the prettiest or the richest but I'm half hispanic so I can bring diversity. Is there a way to meet the girls before hand so I can impress them? I am lots of fun to be around and would love to be a part of a sisterhood. So any tips for rush or joining these specific houses? Honestly being a DG would be just as cool. But yeah any tip and tricks? Also I heard that they check labels so I'm getting a Canada Goose or maybe a Northface.
