people say things never change, but according to family members from both 80s and 90s this is what it used to look like (according to them, others may have slightly different opinion):
best frats (in no particular order):
ato, chi psi, sigma nu, phi delt, sigma chi
best srats (in no particular order):
dg, sdt, aephi, piphi, kappa
some houses that are considered "top" now were "bottom" then (e.g., alpha phi)
some of these changes happened over time, some suddenly. so anything can change.

Alpha Phi was definitely considered the bottom srat into early 90s. What I heard from my family is that sometime around then their national organization sent representatives to campus, basically kicked out the girls who were the active sisters (there were not many) and did rush themselves. If you have read the stories about their national rep involvement at Michigan it is easy to see this could have happened.
