Rankings Should not be Based on Mixing
by: Conspiracy Theorist
There, I said it. Its kind of ridiculous the set up of "rankings" now. Sure, mixing schedule can show some sort of "coolness" or social competency but it is not the end of the story.
Say you are awake for 16 hours in a day. Any decent house (pi kapp and up, aephi and up) has mixers/date nights every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday IF you choose to go to them. Say a night out is give or take 4 hours. That means that a mere 12/112 hours of your week is spent going out IF you go out all 3 days.
This means that 90% of the time that you are in school means you will be with friends, going to classes etc.
Why would we base rankings of just 10% of the time you spend in a semester??
Take a house like DU for example. Sure they mix well but if you talk to anyone in DU, you would know that their brotherhood and house structure is extremely off. Combined with the underground sports brothers and brutal hazing, the guys in some of these frats like DU just plain don't like each other for the 90% of the time that they're not partying.
TLDR; Rankings are flawed and they should reflect more on the brotherhood/sisterhood and overall experience of the frat/srat rather than an arbitrary mixing schedule.
