Best strategy for fall rush?
by: TransferJunior coming into Cornell. What are good houses that I can consider rushing in the fall? Best way to go about this?

As a junior, your chances are pretty much dead at most houses. You can still check them out. ‘Top’ houses don’t do fall rushes and won’t bid a junior if they did. Houses don’t have anything juniors it’s just they find it hard to integrate them into the house (especially if your pledge class is just sophomores and freshmen)
See which one of the top/upper houses are doing fall rush (sigma chi, ad, du, Sig phi, sigma pi, chi psi, DX) and check 1-2 of them out. Who knows? Maybe theyll find you valid and give you a bid
I would rush 2-3 of the upper mid houses (Lamba, Chi Phi, ZBT, TDX)
I would also rush 2-3 of the C4 mids to use as ‘safety’ (psk, pikapp, phi tau, pike). I’m calling them a safety because they’re lenient with bids and MIGHT bid a junior.
So
1-2 top houses as ‘reach’
2-3 upper mid houses as ‘targets’
2-3 C4 mid houses as ‘safeties’
You also have the option to rush the following: Sammy, Fiji, SAE, llenroc. They’ll give you a bid in a heart beat since they’re new and starting up
If you aren’t interested in mixing and aren’t looking to join a ‘new’ frat, you can also check the ‘lower’ houses. They won’t care if you’re a junior since they’re desperate for numbers. Nice brotherhood at those houses. Phi Delt (wholesome brotherhood), Acacia (chillers but declining numbers and no parties), Beta (very nerdy, very involved on campus but very sweet and accommodating) are good options for a junior
Also most of the houses will be throwing during O week on eddy street, Catherine street, cook. You can check the parties out and talk to the brothers

As a junior it’s pretty hard to get a bid in most houses since you’re only really spending three semesters as a full brother after getting in (and most ppls arent really involved during their senior year). Anywhere C4 bid and above prolly won’t bid a junior except in rare circumstances.

Would also like to add that it’s near impossible for a junior to get a bid at a house upper mid or above unless you’re extremely chill or know someone in the house already
