How does suicide bidding work???

Like obviously if you only put one house then you either get that house or none at all. But how does the algorithm work? If I want my first choice significantly more than my second, should I suicide bid??

If you’re okay with not ending up in a house over ending up in your second choice then suicide but maybe you should give a house that wants you a chance?

the algorithm works to reward pnms that “trust the process” if you don’t put both houses you have less of a chance of ending up in your #1
