aphi vs kappa???
by: bruhhypothetically my pref houses and ik they’re both fun and social but wondering which has the most genuine friendships, less drama, and more chill/open minded/not stuck up

This is my opinion, so nobody tell me I'm wrong because that's all it is. An opinion. APhi senior PC is very close but their 2 more recent PCs are VERY clique based. Kappa is reversed, last 2 PCs super tight knit with cliquey seniors. Socially, both houses have a lot of fun, but APhi has "good looking fun" (posting pretty pics on insta, looking cute at mixers, flirty) whereas kappa is "IDGAF fun" (posting in ridiculous outfits, going wild and getting hammered, making best friends with the guys).

They both have their own drama but I would say if anything, APhi's newer PCs have more superficial drama that revolves around boys and social media. Kappa girls have more random and trivial beef, since theyre all friends with the guys and have very little dating overlap. I don't know. These houses are two sides of the same coin if you ask me, on par but different flavors of the same thing.

For the 2 top houses at Cornell I'd say they're both pretty good. I'd venture to say kappa is more genuine and aphi is "easier" if that makes sense. You probably won't bond as strongly to your pc in aphi, but you also won't encounter real world friendship issues either. Aphis are teenagers and kappas are adults who party like teenagers. IMO

I second the above. aphi also rushes very well and what you see is not necessarily what you get- a lot like theta. Kappa advertises itself pretty accurately, which is why their rush reputation is not great comparatively. Like above poster said, they're pretty even in real life with most things considered even if theyre very different, theyre just diff houses for diff kinds of girls. Id advise you to trust the authenticity/value of your conversations at both houses during pref to decide which is a better fit.
