Most kids in greeks had no parents around when they were younger and seek the validation of others to fill the void in their empty heart.

Look at the people in frats and srats. Most even at the “top” houses weren’t the cool guy or gal in high school. All of them aren’t that good looking. Join for friends not for tiers

kids with zero personality but tons of money have left their private high schools where they are surrounded by the same type of people, and join certain houses to find that comfort once again
