Cornell: Change My Mind
by: GoTYesterday's collapse of Kabul was the real life equivalent of the Massacre at Hardhome.

Not as much physical death, but analogously similar. The Taliban marched across the countryside destroying towns and recruiting men to fight. They stormed the heavily populated capital -- the last place of freedom in the country -- entered the capital building and killed national officials. Then they scared hundreds of thousands of people to the Kabul airport where tens died desperately trying to latch onto the last planes leaving the country. All those left will be entrapped under Taliban rule, with women's live in particular effectively ended forever. Mass casualties of freedom, basically no survivors in a sense with no hope. Now the Taliban will force young men to fight for them as they expand their influence in the region and enjoy the mass of weapons left behind in Kabul.
