HYSPM are built different
by: Reality CheckHYSPM are just built different. You have to be genuinely special to go here. People who study really hard, but lack the raw talent go to schools like Cornell, Northwestern, Duke, etc. But kids that go to HYPSM..., you need to be one of them to understand the difference.

You know how many dumb people go to HYSPM and got in from legacy, sports, affirmative action, or luck? Obviously there's geniuses that go to these schools, but to say that all of these people are special is ridiculously naïve. Most of these people are not significantly different than the majority of students here.

this is true: HYPSM, Caltech, UChicago, UPenn, Columbia are honestly at a different league, people dont understand the difference between HYPSM and the other Ivies... ignorance is bliss... Cornell is elite no doubt but the atmosphere at HYPSM+ is infinitely more intense, infinitely more interesting

Students who get into Harvard/MIT/Stanford literally could get into almost all the other Ivies and top schools. Those at HYPSM/Caltech could probably get into at least half the other Ivies. Those at HYPSM+ (HYPSM, Caltech, Chicago, Penn, Columbia) could get into at least one other Ivy. Those in an Ivy outside of HYPSM+ could only get into the one Ivy they are attending and no more.

exactly and for the most part every relevant person considers Cornell to be better than Brown and Dartmouth

Lol I’m not gonna all the Ivies are built differently, you just can’t compare em directly. Maybe Harvard and Stanford can be compared or Columbia and UChicago or Penn and Northwestern but within the Ivies themselves it’s very hard. Yes Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Penn and Columbia have a more intellectual atmosphere or more resources per student than Cornell but that doesn’t mean Cornell is actually that far behind lol. It’s right up there with them, no one in their right mind thinks they are lightyears above Cornell.
