Great guys who didn't get a bid

This site literally warned you all that without dirty-rush or going to a top-prep school, your chances for upper were basically 0. This site also warned you all that you all should rush one/two Uppermid and always one/two backups in Mid (rush anymore, and you probably didn’t have enough time to meet enough brothers).

As a senior at an upper mid, one thing I’ve noticed that I never realized during rush was how much meeting ALL of the brothers (or at least 50% meant). While it varies among different tiers, (I think at uppers you need unanimous votes in order to get a bid , at least I heard this is true for sig chi), it is fairly consistent that most of the guys have to have positive interactions. Getting along incredibly well with 20% of the brothers, while never meeting the rest is more detrimental than having positive interactions with 60-70% of them. Also one thing I realized is that most of the time first impressions are the deciding factor and depending on when you are voted on can make a huge impact. While this can be lucky or unlucky, it’s fairly common for the people who are talked about at the beginning are judged a lot more harshly than those at the end, as people just want to leave deliberations at that point and will be less picky when voting in order to move on. This leads to guys slipping through the cracks. I’m sure most rushes are nice friendly guys but remember that 60 random fraternity guys you just met don’t determine your worth and that there is so much more to Greek life than just being in the top house or hanging out with the most attractive people. People make mistakes, don’t get too caught up on not getting a bid.

Lol I agree w/ everything u said. So how does this translate to a bid down the line during COB?

I would say that you should try other places for COB unless you only went to one zoom session and nothing else.
