Hillcrest
by: MDWhat’s the actual chance of SAE coming back and taking their house? How would they even kick out Sammy if they did? Keep hearing about it but no proof

slim to none. Maybe before the PhiPsi incident there was a chance. But with that rush numbers dropped significantly. A frat can want to recolonize and get kids to be in its initial chapter. But the only way they actually get IFC recognition is if the current frats vote to add it to the IFC. Why would frats vote to add another frat when rush numbers are dwindling. The lower/bottom frats are already getting crushed by this. I heard that a couple of new frats sought to join but were both not voted in. ALM was, but they are more of a niche frat like AZ. Basically slim to none especially in our time, SAE will not be back.

Likely and easily. They own the house and Sammy’s lease ends this year so all they have to do is not let them resign it. SAE’s already applied to be recolonized and has a long history at Cornell. They’ll probably remove pledging entirely for their new chapter (much like ChiPsi did). It’s inevitable. Same goes for houses like SigNu and Llenroc that have big alumni bases and own their houses.

I have seen a lot of posts about SAE and Sig Nu and how when they return they will be upper tier houses. I am confused as to how that would happen. Like who exactly are they gonna recruit that is upper/top tier calibar that is not already in a frat or would it be more like DKE where they were a mid when they got kicked and are a bottom when they came back.

Strictly speaking, Cornell owns Hillcrest, but SAE has first rights to it and will definitely take it back sooner rather than later.
This is the sixth house Sammy has been in since they recolonized in the '80s. Time to start looking for the 7th.
