Mid House Thoughts

bump p frosh definately take a look at this as a significant chunk of you will probably be rushing mid houses after 1st contacts when you get cut by top/upper.

Yeah cool guys in these houses and mix pretty well (except for phi tau). Also pledging not as hard so good option for frosh as most will inevitably be cut by upper houses.

Kinda crazy to think that seven years ago, all these houses (minus PSK which actually dropped) were lower mid/bottom half of cornell frats and with frats getting booted have all risen to be top half frats. Good for them thgh.

As far as I know, Pike was one of the houses that partied hard. In general this is what to expect from these houses adding onto what has already been said.

Pike: largest frat on campus, rowdy throwdown vibes but most of that is cause they are the largest frat on campus. Massive bid dumps to try and attain 20+ PCs. Only succeeded once in the last 3 years. Very strong junior class that is holding up the house and will likely need a good rush to gain some momentum. Best relations in the tier with srats especially DDD.

PiKapp: for a while was the safety house for guys rushing upper mid and was above the other 3 mids. However, aside from their seniors, the house is pretty firmly mid and classes have been getting weaker. Bid dump like Pike but not as much. Generally also land 15+. Graduating their best class like Phi Tau so really need a good rush.

Phi Tau: Very chill, non controversial clean but boring image. Graduating an absolutely solid senior class that really put them on the map (PSK literally took 8 kids that year because they got destroyed in crossrush along with Pike). Lot riding on this rush to take a good PC. Does not bid dump and goes for fit but to be seen if they continue that as they are graduating a solid group of guys.

PSK: not the PSK of the old of 2015 when they were upper mid but still rising through the ranks. Very good spring PC that gives them a bit of momentum but if they don't capitalize, might not work out. Great house on west, slightly frattier than Phi Tau but not much more. Overall very nice guys.

All these houses will benefit massively from FIJI getting kicked off. Fiji does not have the clout of Sig Chi to recruit an underground PC so the 20-25 guys who usually joined them will join these 4 instead. I know there are some people who think Sammy is with these frats. They once were, but after you have constant allegations on you, a kid literally broke into a sorority house, and no sorority wants to mix with you, you are not on this level. Not to mention the quality of guys is just not there.
