Frats by major?
by: '24Hey! I'm an incoming first year, and am interested in greek life. I wanted to know if there's a strong correlation between what major you are and what frat you're in, and what frats have what majors predominantly. That and any other info about Cornell greek life is appreciated. Thanks!

Hotelies feature most in- AD, Sig Chi, Sig Phi, Chi Psi, AEPi, Llenroc
AEM in- TDX, Pike, DTD (that ik of)
Engineers- Most frats, but a lot in Phi Delt, Pike, Pikapp, DTD
Econ- Pho Delt, Kappa Sig, few of the top houses
Idiots- Sig Pi, DKPsi, TKE
Premed- Mixed bag but very few in greek life as a whole.
Generally the business(ish) majors round out most of greeklife.

Aem — mainly upper mid to top houses, like sig chi, sig pi, Fiji, lambda, chi psi
Archies —soft houses like dx, llenroc, ad
Engineering — some in all houses, but mostly in Fiji, pi kapp, phi tau, phi delt
Premed — Mostly mid through lower houses, like pi kapp, phi delt, dtd, beta
Econ — literally every single house
CALS (Non aem) — AGR (ag kids), dispersed mainly in mid and lower houses
Hotelies —similar to Aem, largely upper mid through top like sig chi, du, sig phi, ad, chi psi, llenroc, dx, Fiji
ILR — most houses, but many in mid through top like sig chi, du, chi phi, chi psi, lambda, phi sig, pike

“Soft houses” hahah, yeah the kids are artsy but those are some of the hardest hazing houses
Pretty accurate list though. Would add DX to ILR and Sig Pi to hotel

DU for hotel as well, some of the kids (mainly the 2020 kids) were less of the rowdy kids and more cerebral

Houses like sig pi and ad have a lot of engineers compared to other top houses. Du has a surprising amount of engineers as well.

If you’re going for upper houses, then the best majors are AEM, Hotel, and ILR. AEM has a lot of athletes, while Hotel and ILR are notorious for light workloads. Frats need guys for looks purposes and people with open calendars to attend mixers. Like other people said though, you can be any major as long as you’re a cool dude. There’s engineers and CS majors in nearly every frat (just in small quantity b/c they’re so busy all the time)

There’s archies in dx, llenroc, and alpha delt. Probably other frats, but Ik those three for sure
