I am a bit confused.. just want to understand this correctly. If you join pi phi- do you have to live in? Ive asked others in my group and they said they heard they make you break leases if you have them. kinda scared because I have a lease, can anyone clarify

from what I’ve heard from friends it’s a lottery system and some get to keep their leases and others are forced to break them, depends on luck of the draw

Yea they do. Thats why freshmen are preferred because every sorority has to fill their house. The reason pi phi makes this requirement super clear is that 2 years ago, they took a lot of sophomores (10+) and like 2 of them did have to drop their leases. Last year, they took less sophomores and no one had to drop their lease.

So if you’re a freshman then you have to live in?

I’m in a sorority with a large house (ie even with a full pc there are 2-3 free rooms) and was not forced to live in

as long as the house is filled, you dont have to live in. its because of the housing crisis
