how significant are looks during frat rush?

Hi, I am rushing in the spring and was wondering how much looks play into a frats decision to move forward with you. I am a pretty big dude so how much of a role does that play in for frats. I know that it matters for upper and top tier frats but how about mid or upper mid fraternities. Thank you in advance.

Looks matter a decent amount for rush, but personality/wealth/background/major play a big role too.Frats like Sig Phi and Sig Pi generally take pretty boys who are tall, so probably not for you. Being over 6 feet helps a ton at upper-mid and above. Being a big burly guy is definitely better for frat rush than being a skinny guy, although from what I’ve noticed skinny guys have an easier time with girls than big guys. For mid tier and below, your looks shouldn’t affect rush unless you’re very unattractive (for example cystic acne, mashed in face, or morbidly obese)

looks matter a ton for top frats, and a decent amount for upper and upper mid, but if you're a cool dude and/or a bro you can make up for looks
