I have a friend in a fraternity (Beta I think) at UMiami and I've visited, Cornell has a good social scene but it's just not comparable. Cornell frat parties are pretty typical, the U is year round pool ragers, south beach, tailgates, etc. it's a more typical college experience. Granted a Cornell can degree tends to go further (unless you want to work in FL), but pretty sure UM is the best school in the state

That's funny one of my boys from high school is in Beta there.

To OP: agree with above comment. His snap story looks better than any party I've been to in 2 years at Cornell, but that's not to say it isn't still fun, it's a great social scene here if you're in to more low key hanging out and house parties/local bars, no clue bout academics tho I didn't visit

Unless you want to go to investment banking or consulting I'd go to UM if they give a decent scholarship, especially if you're considering grad school.

I enjoy the social scene here, but I admit it's not up there with Miami like the guy above said

Don't listen to these people, as a transfer I can tell you that Cornell provides the ideal college experience, including a very lit social scene. Its a ton of fun

I don't think anyone is saying it's not fun I love it here, but no Ivy League school is on par with U of Miami in terms of parties/social life if that's what OP is looking for
