hurtful recruitment
by: Ex pnmAs a girl who was very interested in Greek life and rushed freshman year but dropped within the first few days after realizing the financial commitment it took then worked over the summer to pay for joining this year as a sophomore then was dropped the night before pref, I just don't know what happened. I no longer "trust the process" that made me spend money, time and effort for ultimately nothing but humiliation and hurt. Am I out of options? No one will want me now that I was dropped from the process but I just don't know why. All of the houses I had left were popular among the PNMs and I thought I really connected with the girls in my conversations. The numbers game let's a lot of girls slip through the cracks.

Continuous Open Bidding. Any chapter that didn't meet quota or has girls drop can do it. Contact Greek Life. Good luck. My heart goes out to you. It is a numbers game and sophs. are not as desirable to chapters as fresh. Hang in there.

Not true about sophomores not being as desirable. There are certainly less going through so as a percentage there are less than freshman PNMs but if you sell yourself by letting the houses know what great things you can offer and bring to the group you will do fine. I'm sure you may have some leadership skills you can share with the younger PNMs going through. Good luck to you and hang in there with an open mind and you won't be disappointed!!
