bid day inside?
by: AlumCan any Pi Chi or current member answer the reason for why Bid Day is no longer on the Horseshoe? I just graduated and always thought our bid day was an awesome tradition. Just curious why it was changed and thought someone on this site might know!

Over the past few years, problems with harassment on the horseshoe on bid day have gotten worse, and security has been hard to use effectively because it's nearly impossible to close that whole area off. Last year was kind of the straw that broke the camel's back for FSL because new members were apparently actually being groped by drunk boys, and that's not okay. So they decided to move it to an area where they could better secure it. I hurts my heart too, though--such a great tradition broken because a few idiots can't act like real humans. :(

Is it completely closed off or can people come watch? Also wish they would've moved it to the stadium or even greek village (run to the houses) or something (although i understand that would be hard to secure too). Moving it to the basketball arena completely changes the atmosphere.

i just heard about this as well and was going to post something here to ask... it is super sad to see a tradition die, but that is the only reason that would be acceptable - although it is pathetic that those things happened.
