tiers
by: PNMI really don't get the tier rankings on here. What makes a sorority top tier? Is it based solely on looks? If so, after looking at all the facebook pics, there really doesn't seem to be any difference between the top 6. They all seem to just have very pretty girls.

It's exclusivity and who you know. For example the girls who went to school in places like Charleston/Greenville are gonna know the most people at USC and have the most friends automatically which makes them popular at USC so they go top tier. Both because they're more likely to know people in the most exclusive GLO's and because they stand to offer more as a PNM if they have a lot of friends at USC already.
Similar to guys you can look at SNU and a lot of people dont like em but they're still really good just because they're all from SC and know so many girls automatically. Then you get the pi kapp/chi psi/kappa sig type frats with more people from NoVA/MD who still know a lot of girls at USC but maybe slightly less than the hometown boys of SAE/SNU.
TL;DR
Where your from leads to How many guys/girls you know at USC which leads to how many connections you have and how popular you're perceived as.
But "upper middle" at USC is honestly like top tier at any other school as far as the social experience goes

But in terms of quality for guys or girls there is really not a tangible difference between the top 6 besides the "top tiers" probably have more people from areas that send the most kids to USC. ADPi/KD/DDD have the most girls from Greenville/Charleston but the girls from other places in AXO/XO are easily as pretty and cool and most of them know a lot of people anyway.

I too wondered what makes a sorority top tier. It all seems so random. Should I focus on a bottom tier sorority if I want to meet new people, not just the same old faces from my home town? I want to have new experiences in college, not just be back in high school again.

You probably aren't actually a PNM. Each sorority has like 500 girls not every single one of them is from the same HS by a long shot
