cuts

I know it has been asked, but can anyone tell me more about how cuts work? Are 1st round cuts mostly related to grades and/or big reputation problems? Will we automatically get asked to second round if we have recs? Please help, thanks!

I heard that first round cuts are mainly based on grades and your rep. from home. If you have a bad rep., you'll get cut. I also heard that recs. aren't that important...that everyone has them. That you have to have good conversations and try to stand out.

Keep in mind that each house only has enough party space in round 2 to invite about half, if not a little more, of the PNM's back, so you just have to have good enough conversations for the girl who talked to you to think you have the potential to fit in. Don't think of it as the houses choosing what girls to cut; in reality, they're choosing the ones they want to invite back and all the others get cut as a result of their invite list filling up.
