northerners rushing "top tier" frats

As a Northerner coming down south and looking to rush in the fall, I've heard a lot about how it's hard to get bids for some frats coming from out of state and not being able to attend summer rush or get your name out there before school starts.... Is is really noticeably more difficult to get a bid from like SAE or SigNu if that's the case?

If you're from the north you wont know any sig nu or sae's nor have anything in common, the fact you still wanna rush them means you're rushing for the wrong reasons.

SAE has some guys from VA and so does Snu if you consider that the north haha
