sophomore rush

by: Help

I rushed last year and didn't really know anything going into it. I didn't try very hard and just found the whole thing awkward and ended up dropping because I didn't really feel like Greek life was for me (rush is intimidating with all of the jumping and cheering). I want to rush again now that I know what Greek life is really about and the majority of my friends are in sororities with girls I actually really like. Is it worth trying to rush again or will houses just cut me because they know I rushed last year and dropped? Thanks!

You'll be fine. And if anyone asks why you dropped say it was overwhelming. If they ask why you're rushing now be honest and say you realized Greek life is good, you want to be a part of it, and you look forward to having a sisterhood.

I also dropped last year due to anxiety and nerves. I found rush overwhelming. But, I've gotten to know girls in most of the houses during the last year so I think I'll be comfortable this year. Maybe I've matured a bit, but I'm now looking forward to it and will just say I was a silly freshman last year. I didn't realize what I would be missing out on. :) The point is, you're not alone in trying a second time. I think there will be lost of us doing it.

I dropped as a freshman before I even got my first list back because I was so overwhelmed, and then rushed again sophomore year. The girls wont ask you why you dropped but they will ask you what made you decide to rush freshman year, I just told them my parents and I thought it would be best to wait and get a feel for college first. Your whole pi chi group will be sophomores too so don't worry :)
