kappa sigs house
by: WtfSo is the house just going to sit there? I feel like that makes the GV look bad, I'd rather see it filled with a frat or sorority than empty.

Well Kappa Sig aint allowed on campus for 5 years - their nationals has the money i'm sure to let it sit empty but still i'd have to believe eventually they'll use it to house another fraternity. The only thing is not a lot of fraternities can afford those giant houses and beta/phi sig are already losing their houses so there's 3 open cribs on the street and not a lot of people to fill them

I'd rather it sit empty than put another bottom tier frat in it. Beta needs to gtfo and let Lambda work its way back to the top, same goes for Phi Sig with ATO. If anyone was going to fill it size and rep wise that doesn't already have a house, it would've been PIKE but they're gone now so I have no clue.

I'm a senior and Lambda Chi and ATO were both top 5 or 6 fraternities when I got to school here, unlike Beta, Phi Sig, Phi Kappa Sig, any of these goons will ever be. ATO and Lambda have alumni and money and in a year or so they will already be head and heels above the above mentioned. They both belong in GV before those scrubs. Sig Ep also used to be pretty good when I got here and before they were kicked off, and like ATO and LXA, they'll be better than all these lower levels before long. Btw, I'm in a fraternity and not any of the above, my post was just a fact.

If you are even a senior like you claim to be lambda and ATO had already been kicked off for a year when you were a freshmen. No lambda or atl that is here today has ever had a house or been in the old ones and people who were actually here will tell you they were never good especially lambda

I'm all for lambda chi is definitely better than all the new fraternities, but they were always a bottom tier fraternity, though better than off campus frats like du, phi sig, dtd, etc. they will never get "back" to the top. Seeing as they have actually been on campus for more than 5 years (beta, 1850 doesn't count, if you go 150 years of nonexistence and even then you weren't here for long), I think that is their slight edge.
ATO was actually top tier forever before they got the boot but this is not even remotely the same ATO. Like literally not at all.

Lambda chi was NEVER anything but bottom tier and good lord NEVER in the "top 5 or 6". Saying something that no one currently in school was around to know doesn't make it true.
I still think you're better than the new fratnetities but good god that's the most egregiously false thing I've ever heard.
Ato was actually top tier but that ato is not the same as now ato.

Sig Ep has been ruined on a national level there's no way they're coming back strong.
All the outside frats are always talking about "ah yeah man we're totally on the come up we have money and alumni!!!"
We all have money or alumni or else we would be complete gdi's. Even TKE has tons of money and alumni being a massive fraternity member-wise. It doesn't mean much even ATO's have told me reclaiming that house isn't going to be easy and it's just a matter of no one is gonna want to join an ATO/Sig Ep type fraternity when all the members are goobers and there are better options.

I came in spring semester 2012, ATO took a class then before the decision was made to wipe them off. They got in trouble at the end of 2011 and the choice wasn't made until the end of Spring 2012. Trust me I know, I rushed them and they had some cool guys, a lot of Greenville area guys that I knew. Lambda used to be a top 5 or 6 fraternity here, it's pretty obvious. The only people that were above them in 2011-2012 and in years before were the obvious (SAE, Sig Nu, Sig Chi, KA, Kappa Sig, then ATO/Lambda/Sig Ep). Now we have no truly solid middle tier fraternities here. We have our big 3, then a big jumbled up pack. Sure Pi Kapp, Chi Psi, and Beta have all grown, but they are so inconsistent just like the rest below them.

And I'm talking about money and alumni here. Beta just rechartered a few years back, Phi Kapp, Phi Sig, TKE, all these fraternities that are "on the rise" don't have the resources, funds, and options that the big 3, KA, Chi Psi, and maybe Pi Kapp do here at USC... maybe nationally but not here. That's the exact reason that in 2-3 years, it'll be back to SAE, Sig Chi, Sig Nu, KA/Chi Psi/Lambda/Sig Ep/ATO--->the rest. Watch

OH MY GOD STOP.
Lambda has never been good. They were always after ato, chi psi, ka, ks, pikapp, sae, sigep, snu, sx (alphabetical based on the historic fraternities that have existed at USC).
Times are changing and I like yall but don't make up history.

chi psi, pikapp, and sigep were below the other historical fraternities here at USC, but lambda chi was far and away the worst "on campus" frarernity.
sigep ended up really working their way upwards before they got the boot, and chi psi and Pi kapp have both become extremely good fraternities, though still just below toP tier (kind of their own tier).

The fraternities in the village will always be the permanent/best ones. There's a reason certain fraternities here are given luxurious mansions where not all are equal to the rest - the reason SAE gets their lions and sweet back porch and Chi Psi gets their huge "lodge" is because of alumni money/support they have at USC. Sure Beta/Phi Sig can come and do well as low-mid frats for 2-4 years in the wake of others being temporarilly removed. But once they get kicked off the block no one is going to rush them anymore and the frats in the village are once again going to take their spot in terms of relivency. It's really all about who had the connections/money and a greek village house they actually own is a huuuge part of that.

"Beta's" house is going back to Lamdba Chi so it won't be empty. I thought Phi Sig had another year on their lease. If not, my guess is they'll see if ATO can fill it and reclaim it. If not then I don't see why they wouldn't just resign the lease. ( I honestly have no idea what will happen to that house.)
As for Kappa Sig, I would rather see it sit empty or be leased by another frat until they return than watch a sorority occupy it. I refuse to watch Greek Village become Sorority Village.
