my rush experience

So this is my first semester at USC and a month ago I decided I would rush. I found this website and used it as a guide to help me pick and choose which fraternities were best for me.

After open house today, I got a feel in person. And realized these posts should be taken with a grain of salt.

I had the idea that Chi Psi would be the best fit for me... Maybe it was just bad timing but none of the members clicked with me. And that's fine.

I did like beta, and lambda, and a few others whose names escape me... Though others seem to scoff at beta. Idk why. One guy tried to lure me in by convincing me that racism is prevalent among the top tiers... Idk how true to was but that didn't stop me from talking to anyone and everyone.

Long story short, you won't really know until you go for yourself.

In my fraternity we got into a heated debate over whether to give a pledge a bid. He was super cool, decent gpa, and he was just great to be around. Idk how good he would of been with the girls though. He was black. And there's really was no reason to deny him, but they (we) did. I feel so bad idk what to do.

He messaged me earlier inquiring about our event(s). I can't contact him anymore... I saw him today, he looked at me and I just avoided eye contact.

I love my brothers, but for me this just wasn't right.
