alpha chi?
by: Gdi
I went through recruitment and fell in love with the girl i spoke to in alpha chi, but I had a really low gpa (because of grade forgiveness not being accounted for yet) and got dropped by half the houses after the first day.
I completely regret dropping out, and yes, I was one of those haughty girls who only wanted a top house and blah blah blah. And I'm definitely suffering for it. But I've realized my mistake and just want to be somewhere that I fit in.
That being said, if alpha chi participates in spring rush, is there a way I can join if I don't know anyone in it other than the girl I spoke to?

I would recommend letting greek life know you are interested in going through spring rush.Try to speak with some girls in a variety of sororities and see if they may be doing spring rush. They may be able to give you some heads up! Alpha Chi is awesome, but make sure you keep an open mind! I am in "lower tier" sorority and I believe we may be doing spring rush! I absolutely love my sorority! The only place I ever see this tier business is on this website. Worse case, you can study a lot this year and get your grades up. Then go through formal recruitment in the fall! And I am sure you will find a great home away from home!

Im in a "middle tier" sorority and we're doing spring rush! Im happy you love AXO because they are great but give some others a try too! You sound like a sophomore (grade forgiveness) so if you want to be in a sorority you almost have to do it this spring, we cut girls who are older then sophomores based on the fact that you'll be competing with girls who can give 4 years of time to the sisterhood, not 2.

The may very well participate because of winter grads, etc, and there is nothing wrong with that or any other sorority who might (other top tiers do too). Definitely a top house but if you got cut before bc of grades you might not have better luck this time, grades are more of a nonnegotiable.
