colonization

by: wow

I was creeping on all of y'all instagrams and I came across Pi Beta Phi's insta and found out that they were colonizing here! I'm so excited to rush next year since they're one of my fav sororities. Now this campus has all of the soros I love. Do you think they'll have a house by next year? (congrats on all of your beautiful pledge classes by the way!)

USC GL will find a way to kick a fraternity out for a bs reason so yes they will probably get a house. For a bs reason though.

To my knowledge, greek life may be planning on building some new houses in the future. But this will take some time and I do not think it has been planned yet. There are a few houses in greek village that are not owned by their occupants, so they may want to own their own house someday. For example I believe agd and phi mu do not own their houses (this may have changed but a couple years ago they were just renting). Also there are some fraternities that may want a house in the future. I think Greek life tends to favor sorority housing more, so I am sure they will try to figure something out for pi phi. But it may take a couple years. I would not worry about it :)

GL will definitely target a frat to boot out, even if they own the house. That happened before - they force the frat to rent to a new sorority or fairyternity like beta. Hope they would boot beta, but more likely they'll go after a strong frat that people like. That's what happened with ATO, sig ep, and even pike (they were the worst in the village but still half decent). My guesses are chi psi kappa sig or pi kapp. RIP whoever you are, love all these frats.

chi psi will never lose their house. the man who made the greek village was a chi psi that’s why their house is 3 stories

A chi psi would get on here and say something like that. But look at the owner ship of the houses that have been booted - doesn't matter.

Actually was a compliment to say that GL would target those fraternities. O

About 320 to get bids. They're trying to build the average size sorority including freshmen sophomores juniors and seniors.

They're building a house starting next year. They're having a contractor draw up the plans now and they plan on it to be open by Fall 2016. Don't ask me where in Greek Village, because I honestly don't see any room, but they said they're building one, so...

there's a new phase where the parking lots were in between greek village and the coliseum/colonial life

they won't be good and absolutely will not be selective when they stat (they will take everyone, including a high percentage of rush drop outs ["I'm too good for agd or gphi or phi mu" but got dropped by everyone else] and rejects) but if they are getting a house it will guarantee some level of success. houses, and gphi, agd, and phi mu'a quick access to one of each of their own, is the reason uscfsl is so successful from top to bottom. believe me, at other schools, bottom tier sororities are embarrassing. here, ours could be super desirable at any other school. pi phi will struggle no more than any of the other new three... which is to say not too much , all things considered.

agreed - getting houses so quickly has been paramount in the success of the newer fraternities and sororities. it has helped agd and phi mu, and i head that before we were here when pike first got the q dogs house they actually shot up really high really quickly. definitely would love to see this phase 2 happen and can't wait to welcome the pi phi's to campus! go uscfsl!!
