Tougher to get into a top tier from OOS unless you are truly a standout PNM in every way. But keep an open mind--one of the houses further down may feel more like home to you, anyway.

Out of state girls don’t really have any disadvantages at all, And tiers don’t mean so much when you actually join an organization. My advice is to be yourself and go into rush with an open mind. They say “trust the process” and it sounds stupid at the time, but it’s real. I’m from OOS and I absolutely love the chapter that I’m in that’s a mix of S.C. girls and girls from all over, but this chapter wasn’t even on my radar before rush or even until philanthropy round. Be yourself, keep an open mind and you’ll definitely find your future bridesmaids :)
