200? Does that include girls who only had one choice? Because that is terrible...

No 200 girls actively chose too. Probably why gamma phi and Pi Phi didn't make quota.

I hope some of those girls learned their Lesson, that's so disrespectful

Honestly they didn't make quota because the rest of the Greek system, especially sororities, do not support them and it's just shameful. The tent talk was disgusting this recruitment. I'm in a bottom tier and we reached out to an upper tier to have a sister hood event, which we offered to pay for, and instead of telling us they didn't want to they strung us along all semester and every time we reached out they were like "yeah definitely we'd love to!" but obviously they didn't because a month before school ended they just stopped responding. Panhel and soco really need to focus on building these women up because they are just as important as the upper tiers. Stop sweeping them under the rug and support them.

But actually! Ugh said it all. We NEED lots of sororities on this campus to handle all the girls going through recruitment. Smaller pledge classes are better. The more chapters we have, the more selective the mightier than thou top chapters get to be. It's a win win. But there is so much hate thrown to the bottoms here that some of the weaker girls drop that chapter because they can't take it. I think we can all agree being Greek is better than being a GDI.

to "^" With the extreme hate that the lower tiers get, and the examples in this post, how can you feel that being Greek is better than being GDI. You're getting the lack of support and the hate because you went Greek.

Because I'm still able to have a great sisterhood that helps me better by myself. A few petty people won't prevent me from taking advantage of the opportunities that going greek has provided me with.

The period above me said it all. Going Greek was easily the best decision I made as a freshman. It got me very involved in other organizations that I never would have gotten into had I not done it with my sisters, it provided me with my best friends in college, and it made me grow into the woman I am to day. I am a better and stronger person for it. I know that my value is not determined by the crap other people say. I was a part of a wonderful sisterhood which is the sole reason I went through recruitment anyways. And THAT is why being Greek, no matter the letters, is better than not.

Honestly them ranking the two houses they go to is stupid..no matter how they rank them they get whichever house wants them more. The PNMs should be aware how this works before they go to pref and sign their MRBA (or whatever that thing is). I feel bad for the girls who are crying on bid day but then again they don't realize the house they're crying about didn't want them in the first place. They shouldn't turn away the house welcoming them with open arms. In my opinion it's better to be in a lower house then not be in Greek life. It's almost impossible to be in a group of 300ish women and not find girls you get along with and become friends with
