I hope you get cut from those 11 houses you selected to only get recs on. It does happen to good girls you know? I bet you get stuck with the remaining 6 that you feel are not worthy. Good luck with that you idiot!

calling people idiots really isn't necessary. let the girl do as she pleases without judgment. if she feels comfortable with the houses she chooses and thinks she has a chance of going to one, then so be it. you don't know her credentials. who are you to say mean things like that? if she does get cut from those 11, well, then she took her chances.

wow looks like SOMEONE is a little upset with where THEY ended up? sorry that I don't have time to search for recs for SEVENTEEN houses and decided to narrow it down to 11? which is still a huge number

PNM- Don't worry about it... most people dont get recs for all 17 houses. Which ones did you not get recs for?

and some of the houses (mostly North Milledge) will cut after first round w/out a rec. Other houses only have to have a rec to extend a bid. And, it is the responsibility of the sorority to get a rec. They will if they like you well enough.

well I haven't gotten one for kappa, chi o, aopi, zta, and sigma kappa .. is it REALLY a big deal? everyone i talk to tells me i don't need recs

it really is a big deal. like someone said before: if you and polly pnm have the EXACT same credentials but polly has a rec and you don't, they're more likely to cut you than polly pnm. from what i've heard from even my friends in the "bottom tier" houses, this is true for almost every house on campus. if you think you are even remotely interested in having a chance at those houses (especially since they're typically houses that are popular during rush), i would try to get a rec for them.

unless you know someone who you are VERY close with in the sorority, you really need to get recs. Yes, some houses on campus are allowed to invite more PNMs back after round 1 and you can get into easily without recs, but most you NEED a rec for. Think of it like this...if every PNM has at least 1 rec to all of the houses, recs will only EVEN THE PLAYING FIELD. So, it is strongly encouraged to get recs to all houses (especially "top" ones) so youre not at a disadvantage!
