can graduated students still be in frats?

by: Wondering

I've noticed that a lot of the guys in frats at U of T aren't even in school anymore. They graduated in 2015, along those years, and they still wear letters and represent the frat?

Is there a date/age where you are no longer with the frat? I thought it was graduation but these guys still live in the house and do typical frat activities. What do they do in the day time, etc?

Its impossible to tell who is an active or alum at beta and sigma tbh They got guys hanging around from 2014, and like alums living in their houses. Like i get it, toronto rent sucks. But stop trying to hang with us,for realzz

There's a bunch of guys in zeta aswell that have graduated but still show up to mixers, like you're 24 hitting on girls that are 18. Those guys need to reevaluate their pathetic lifes

Girls go out and get hit on by 30 year olds at bars and often, they enjoy the attention. What a brotherhood decides to do is there business. If you don’t like it then don’t show up lol. Literally every house has older guys hanging around because fraternities actually care about their people and friendships and don’t have headquarters that don’t trust their active members with exercising their own judgement. Brothers for life, You wouldn’t understand. Maybe they just want to hang with their bros, not everything is about YOU.

Some of these girls in Sororities are so entitled it actually blows my mind. Fraternities are organizations with members who contribute while alumi and active and what they decide to do is perfectly fine with me. Lol” avoid the maddy and your own house because we exist” is essentially what you’re getting at. Get over yourself, im sure they’d rather have friends around compared to self entitled and insecure women. Also it’s very clear this post is about someone who slept with a 24 year old or older frat boy and now regrets it, or even worse, is being shamed about it by her sorority.

No one is saying avoid your own house. Go to your alumni events and hangout with your brothers. What is being said is that is it's weird for them to show up to sorority social events. Imagine if someone that graduated/dropped out of highschool still showed up to highschool events years afterwards. It's just really creepy. Also these older guys that are not in school are not showing up to parties and social events to socialize with their brothers lol. Do what you like but it gives your house a bad image

The difference between high school and university is that we are talking about consenting adults..... you’re assuming women are powerless in these situations which is problematic. How dare you assume what people’s intentions are going to a party, if the same suggestion was made about women you would be beyond offended. Have you never been to a club before? I’ve been hit on by men of various ages and have either enjoyed their attempts or have not. if I do not like them I tell them to leave, rarely has this ever been based on their age. Stop dis-empowering women and reducing them to mindless objects that always succumb to men. It’s honestly something I’ve seen so often during my experience in Greeklife as a women and it’s disgusting. I agree with the showing up to socials part of you’re not active however. But everything else is bull crap, live your own life shesh.

brothers for life. I dont know about other houses, but at mine grads are always welcome but they only show up to undergrad events when invited, or are close with the girls attending. i dont know how sorority girls can just turn their backs on eachother the instant they graduate
