freshman guys wondering about bids
by: Bid
Last year around 300+ guys rushed and only around 150 got bids. Same goes for sororities. Greek life here is competitive, keep an open mind and go where you fit in.
Nothing is an easy bid, regardless of the jokes you may hear. Be yourself and meet people! Enjoy your first semester!

Especially for guys it is really hard to get a bid. A lot of my friends “rushed” but didn’t even register for formal rush because they knew they wouldn’t get a bid anywhere and didn’t want to waste the money. Realistically, it’s more like 500 guys for 150 spots so keep your options open and never think you’re too good for a fraternity

There really isn’t much of a party, tailgate, or social scene allocated for geeds, which is sad but true. Rush can be pretty daunting during the fall for guys because you will feel the need to go out frequently and meet older guys in various organizations to get your foot in the door. With that being said, it’s super important to stick with whatever friends you’ve made at the start and to not just join an organization with a bunch of guys you don’t know for the name of it. Find your crowd and where you see yourself being comfortable for the next few years, and if you can’t then don’t worry because it’s only a very small part of wht Wake has to offer
